In a mountain biking website of all places I've just seen someone looking for Korean-speaking foreign volunteers to participate in a survey examinating attitudes about speaking in other languages. The tests will be in Seoul until August 30th and will be compensated.

PM me or just post a reply here if interested, and I can give more details.

Hey man,
I am fluent in three languages, and speak "basic" Korean. I am willing to help you out. PM or send me an email to my address.

The original Korean poster simply put a message about it on a Korean website but he has not yet replied to my questions.

Here is the original message

Basically some guy he knows is doing a language related project in some university in the eastern United States, wanting to know why Americans who speak Korean well still feel awkward when speaking in front of Koreans, and investigating how this problem can be dealt with (conquered/overcome) quickly. In the course of the study they need to test a bunch of Americans. The subjects (can I say testees?) just have to sit in front of a computer for four hours and play games. In return they'll pay for your OPI test and get 73,000 won. It's taking place at Sogang university in Seoul.

I've removed his number as he hasn't accepted my offer of help yet. If he gets back to me I'll add his number here and anyone who is interested can phone him directly

Cheers,

Duncan

Hmmm, it's illegal and not worth the money, but it does appeal to my sense of personal vanity as a super genius Korean speaker....

I'll do it, but only if I'm constantly showered with praise for being able to speak Korean during the entire 4 hours.

I've participated in two studies of foreigners learning Korean to see how we use the language.. no computer games were involved.
