Question for anyone that lives in either area...which would you prefer? I'm in the middle of switching jobs mid contract and so far these are the two that sound very promising. I'd like to here the pros and cons of the two areas.
Thanks. |

Guii-dong hands down!
It is where the Eastern District Court is located so that if you have any problems with your hagwon and end up in court you will know the area and can go back and forth to court as I did about 50 times for court dates and various other reasons within a 2 year period.
Also, there is an Anma right next to the court. Probably there for all the Attorneys, Judges, etc...
I don't know if they would allow a foreigner to experience their sevices?
Techno Mart(electronics and a movie theater) is also next to Guii-dong. |

I second Guui dong. It's a decent location in Seul, near many nice areas.
If possible, compare the apartments.
Yongin is a little bit isolated. But if you like that, then go there. |

What part of Yongin? The city or else where?
I like it here but then I don't know my way around anywhere. Ask Koon Taeng Daeng or whatever his username is and he can confirm that I am geographically challenged.
Yongin city seems nice enough. Got everything I need and where I live I can get the 5002 straight to Gangnam 25-45 minutes depdening on when I leave. |

There is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING good about living in the dump that is known as Yongin.
Gui-dong wins by a landslide. |

Thanks everyone for the comments/advice I made my decision the more I thought about it the less I wanted to live in Seoul at this point I took the job in Yongin today. It's over near Kangnam University. The area looks nice, the school looks good and shold be a better match for me than the one I was at.
Thanks again. |

Big mistake. There is jack sh!t (absolutely NOTHING) to do there and you'll be going to Seoul EVERY weekend. The 1.5 hour rides in and out of Seoul will wear you out over a year period. |

I don't go to Seoul like that now...hence the I don't want to live there...hell I barely visit there now. I'm sure I'll find something to occupy myself with. Like I said thanks for the advice though.
