Whilst living in Thailand I had the misfortune to meet a rather obese American from Kentucky who carried around a sponge in his pocket for wiping his azz after taking a dump.

He claimed that he had picked this up from Asians who lived in America Koreans, Thais and Cambodians or so he claimed.

I was rather disturbed by the fact that this man kept a sponge in his pocket that had been used for cleansing himself.

The fact that the sponge was dry in his pocket also concerned me. I was unsure if he wet it before going to the toilet or afterwards. It must have meant that he had to at some point put it damp into his pocket.

Have you ever heard of anybody else doing this? I personally have not and only remembered about it today after another poster mentioned using a towel to keep the sweat off himself.

I've never heard of it.

I think you know what my vote is.

I am most unhappy that I have remembered about this.

It's rather disturbing to say the least.

What is worse is I also remember him wiping his forehead with when he used to sit and sweat in his unairconned office.

Shocked

Bad crack, really bad crack.

Part of me is laughing too hard to even take this halfway seriously, but I really hope you're making this whole thing up.

Azz sponge.

I'm not. It was real. It was pink. A piece of foamy sponge much like one of those yellow scourers but it didn't have any souring bit on it for obvious reasons.

Something like that.[/img]

I do miss the toilets with the little hoses that you could give yourself a good clean.

I brought a hose with me but I am found that I can actually reach my shower head over to wash my bum so I never fitted it.

Would you ever carry a sponge though for cleaning yourself with?

I have to go back to school later tonight to teach an evening class. I know at some point this thread, and the term 'azz sponge,' are going to make their way into my head, and I'm going to start laughing uncontrollably.

An azz flanel now that is interesting. Maybe there is more to this whole thing than meets the eye.

I'm nearing the point of wetting myself. This thread should be preserved for posterity.

Oh, and by the way, what I thought would happen earlier, happened. I started snickering to myself in a lull in class earlier this evening.

I'm in Thailand at the moment and I can say that those hoses are fantastic. So much more hygienic than using paper.

Why don't people buy those little packs of 10 kleenex wet-wipes, made for the purpose of wiping your behind and keeping it spring-time fresh? Who are these clowns that carry sponges? I bet he'd forget to wet it sometimes before going into the cubicle so he'd pee on it instead. Then he'd wring it out in the basin, slip it back in his pocket and waddle out of the bathroom. Then he'd head straight for the fruit shop and handle all the apples.
