I like this show. It has good tips. I doubt that it can be completely realistic though. I mean he has a camera crew with him the whole time and only a call away from a rescue, I think the existing safety net would remove a lot of the psychological stress of being in the situations. Nonetheless, it is great to watch and learn from. It is my favorite reality show.

Yeah it's a cool show and he's a metrosexual hell man but it's a bit of a wind up as well. The one when he was in the rockies he was going on about how lonely he was without any companions to talk to after a couple of days, this was when there was obviously someone else doing all the camera work.

Of course it is set up for the cameras, how else would they get the multitude of camera angles. It is just trying to depict what would occur in a real situation, and instead of describing the possible emotions one might suffer from, he's purely "acting" them out for the camera.

I agree it's an amazing program and I look forward to Monday nights. The guy is a skilled man. He's ex-SAS and the youngest Briton to ever summit Everest and decend. He has also flown over Everest in a paraglider, aswell numerous other accolades. The boy is definitely hard!!

And he's HOT!

The show's awesome but honestly Future Weapons is the show for me. One man running around getting to blow shit up with awesome machinery. Yup...good TV!

Future weapons is the one show on discovery channel i won't watch. Finding out all the new and horrific ways human beings have invented to wipe each other out is not high on my agenda. Plus the frontman is a dick, "i'm a bald, scowly, hard looking american, ex sniper...AND AHHH LOOOVE KILLINGS" screw him.

So, who do you think would win in a street fight, Bear or Mack? I've got my money on Mack.

Bear would know where to hide but Mack would know where to find him...It would be pretty interesting to see actually....

Is it a guy/girl thing? I also think he's a bit of a w*nker with no charisma (I'm a guy).

As for the weapons, it's interesting to see new technology being applied, but I just don't share his good guys vs the bad guys enthusiasm. It leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. If those weapons get deployed, they'll probably end up killing way civilians than combatants, if recent American or Israeli wars are anything to go by.

Man vs wild, though, rocks. He seems like a really nice, down-to-earth guy. I also like the guy in "Tribe" who went around by himself living with various tribes. I'm not so keen on the two guys in "Living with the Kombai tribe", although it is funny to see them have their little spats and make snarky comments about their hosts.

I haven't a clue if it's a girl/guy thing. I'm a girl. I like the show. I like seein things blown up. I wouldn't claim that my enjoyment of the show is an indicator that all women would like it. Probably the complete opposite. I like violence. I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

I was wondering more specifically about peoples like or dislike of the host himself - hotness may be a redeeming feature which 50% of the audience wouldn't credit him with.

As for liking seeing things blown up - I agree, not really a gender issue.

Oh...I was just being silly about that. The hotness or notness of a tv host has nothing to do with my desire to watch a show. Mythbusters being a great example...great show but the 2 main hosts are not exactly Playgirl quality Laughing

The guy doesn't bother me. Quite frankly if I was a ex-Navy Seal I'd have a bit of a swagger and a love of pulling the trigger too...So I can't quite see the problem...

Do you think Discovery will be doing a "Christmas: Celebrity Deathmatch Special", featuring the 2 men?

Would that be a ratings winner?
