A long time ago (not in a galaxy far away) our family had a cat that had literally been raised by a male dog. The mother would nurse to kittens a couple or three tims a day and disappear. The dog cared for them and we chose one to stay.
The dog was a small off white mutt. The cat grew to be a huge Ginger Tom about 10 kilograms. The shared a gog house, bowl and the affection or our four kids.
One day "puppy" (that what the kids called him) came into the yard about 2 feet in front of a large Shepherd female with muder in her heart. With about 15 seconds the Shepherd was out of our yard with its left eye gone. And Great Hairy Beast (our name for the cat) was cleaning puppy's wounds.
