What's the proper punishment for a man convicted of embezzlement and nepotistic investment of company funds? Have him lecture about corporate responsibility, of course.

"With the suspended sentence, the court ordered [Hyundai chairman] Chung to give lectures and write articles on corporate governance for newspapers."
The worst part of this illogical ruling is how unsurprising it is. |

At least in places like Indonesia and Nigeria they acknowledge the fact that their legal systems are as bent as a dog's hind leg instead of pretending that they have all the trappings of a first world state, like some I don't care to mention right now. |

In China guys like that get a bullet in the head.
Gotta respect the Chinese they actually do something about corruption, not like the clowns here who only talk about it. |

Yea but you know loads of high level people in China are benefiting from corruption. When something dramatic happens, like the food safety scandals, they might execute someone, but that doesn't change the structure that encourages corruption. |
