What is the cheapest way to call the USA?
I know about Skype, but what about other methods?
Any calling card company out there that offers a great deal?
What about those numbers advertised on TV (0700 or something like that.) What are those? |

I set up a dialpad account (later automatically changed to a Yahoo voice account when Yahoo bought them out) prior to leaving the US. The phone number associated with that is in my home state, not Korea. When I call someone in Texas, the charge to the phone account is for a normal California-to-Texas call, not an international call.
If you, prior to departing the US, did not already establish an account with Yahoo, Hotmail, or any of the host of others, have a trusted friend or relative located in the US establish one for you. Then you install the program on your computer here and log-in. Change the password before doing anything else. Then make your phone calls.
When I'm away from a computer and need to make a call to the US, I also use one of the international calling cards. |

Yahoo IM with voice costs one cent per minute to the U.S. from Korea. |

I use vonage which is $25 a month. I can call the US and I also have a US number that my parents can call me on. PM if you want more details. It's been a life saver. |
