ok, here goes - after putting a few camps under my belt, i'm really sick of hearing how the students will be "speaking only english" when that just never happens - at least in my experience it doesn't.
since there are so many camps across korea, am wondering if there has been a camp where english was actually spoken most of the time?
and did the k co-teachers cooperate by speaking in english to the students? no i'm not kidding
let's hear what you all experienced

**can't seem to edit the poll question so please read it as the topic above - "WHEN was english spoken at your summer camp?**
thanks |

I'm crushingly bored this week, so I shall address each of your poll options, because many of them require a check and one can only check one.

in the classroom we spoke english |
Of course. Only English in the classroom, but.....

it's the only language the foreign teachers used |
I always use the very occasional word of Korean, but others probably don't and if they're happy with that, great.
But in my experience of observing other teachers, a word or two of Korean here and there is superior to a dude speaking to Korean kids as though he was speaking to a bunch of Canadians in Three Alleys.

ceremonies were in english (no seriously!) |
Yes, but District Superintendents spoke Korean (at length) at the opening ceremonies.

english was spoken at meal times |
This quickly disappears. It's not enforceable.

students initiated english conversation on their own to foreign teachers |
Confident ones, yes. Mostly, I'd guess no.

k coteachers spoke in english a majority of the time |
Yes, they have to, but with young women, boys will address them as 누나 and try to speak in Korean.

english was spoken during extracurricular activities |
Yeah, but it's impossible to enforce constant English-use IMO. |
