Kyoto, lots of hostels. I stayed at Waraku-An
Hiroshima: J-hoppers.
Osaka, no idea. no reason to stay there. It is really close to Kyoto (30-45 minute train ride). |

In Kyoto I also stayed in Waraku-An (thanks for the recommendation) and it was great. Kyoto's close to Osaka and has usually cheaper accomodations. In Hiroshima I stayed in a business hotel near the train station. It was about 50 bucks and decent. In Osaka I cheaped out and stayed in spa land. It was ten bucks, but very comfortable (they had a room of beds) and very relaxing. |

We stayed at Gojo Guesthouse

The staff speaks excellent English. The cafe downstairs is nice. It was clean and the other guests were nice. It's also in nice walking distance to several sights. I highly recommend it. |

There is also lots of accomodation information in the Osaka and tokyo visa run threads above and in the FAQs forums (under VISAS). |
