I was trying to explain to some students on Friday that americans don't just eat junk food all day, but i couldn't think of any american foods that weren't junk food

so what is it? what do healthy americans eat?

Fried Chicken, Ocra and rice

Sheppard's Pie

Roast pork, green beans and mashed potatoes (with gravy)

you can have fried chicken, but that's junk food

coarsely ground hominy, boiled and sometimes then fried, eaten as a breakfast dish or as a side dish with meats... tastes great and are real good fo'ya...

American food? From my experience it's:

1. Anything greasy and/or meaty

plus:

2. Anything served in gigantic, oversize portions.
