Hi everyone!
Even though many people are interested in adopting animals, only a few know that they can adopt from their municipal pound. In fact, the GuChong collects all lost or abandoned animals in their district. Even though they have to wait 3 weeks (to make sure the owners are not looking for them), they still put them for adoption where the animals can be picked up after the 3 weeks.

Nevertheless, the animals only have a month in total (including the 3 waiting weeks) before they get put down...Some of the animals will go to a vet (the pound pays for that), but most of them are kept on a farm in damp cages filled with excrements and with no light...The last dog we took from there had pneumania (fortunately easy to treat in that case). In Daejeon, Daedok GuChong has over a hundred animals!

Of course, some pounds are better than others and will trap and neuter adult feral cats. But all the others are lined up for their final walk. It is very sad as nobody knows they can actually adopt from their municipal pounds (not even Koreans!). My friends and I try to get them out of there, but with the time and money limits, there is only so much we can do. Still, my friend adopted one and is very happy.

To go there is very hard as we know they won't last for very long. For example, these 2 dogs are meant to be put down this coming Friday...:

Of course, taking these animals in is a challenge as we have no background info about them. However, if you still feel you can help, please contact me!
Here is the link for a Guchong in Daejeon (but you need hwp to see the pix and maybe a Korean friend to understand the info):

Thanks!
