A Korean guy asked the same question a few years ago on this page and got a telephone number for some recycling center -- 054-285-9088. I think that's in Gwangju or something though.

Some people on Naver asked about disposing of cellphone and car batteries. Maybe ask a Korean friend to look at these for you.

recycling batteries is great, but switch over to rechargeable batteries and decrease the demand for new batteries and help the environment by reducing waste.

your apartment building (well, not sure how many %-wise) will have drop offs. Just look in your mailbox wall...there may/ought to be a slot just for ba'triez.

With you on that one, but there are these batteries that have entered my life one way or the other, typically already installed in something I bought.
