Can anyone recommend a psychiatrist or other Prozac-obtaining method on the East Coast?
Thanks |

There are very few psychiatrists here, but I saw one in the newspaper for only foreigners. I don't remember anything else though (I know this isn't really that helpful). Also, at work, be careful. There are none here because it is a huge stigma to say you are going to one. Keep it to yourself. I see no problem with them but I would suggest keeping it a secret... |

Pohang has one Pyschiatrist - and apparently when I was there back in 2001 - my students told me he was the most loony person in Pohang...
If you are feeling depressed - the BEST thing you can do is GET OUT of Pohang before you are completely insane....
Seoul will make you feel much better.... |

Any doctor (that can write a prescription) will do, if all you are seeking is the meds. Just wander into a "nae gwa" or "jung shin gwa", and the deal can be done. Pharmacies in the boonies may need a day or so to import some drugs though. |

How many days will I have to wait for my morphine though? I asked the doc back in Daejeon for it in 2003, and still no delivery! What is this, the pedestal age? |

SunMo ByungWon (St. Mary's Hospital) in Pohang does have a good psychiatry department, but the guy I swore by moved to Daegu recently. I get Lexapro in Pohang, and I've also had Xanax and Zoloft dispensed there, too. The guy who I have now doesn't speak English except to tell me that he may want to reduce the medication or something simple like that.
However, I've had trouble with Pohang doctors and hospitals, so since you're traveling far, you may as well travel a little farther and go to a Daegu hospital. Don't know which, but I know a couple of them have international clinics.
Chances are they'll talk with you for a few minutes and suggest this or that depression-anxiety treatment, which may or may not be Prozac. If you have Prozac in your system, I'd ask for continued medication until it can be phased out. If you don't have Prozac in your system, I would go with whatever they prescribe. |
