Important question:

Let's say a certain strappin' lad gets a little tipsy, gets dragged to a noray bang by his colleagues and proceeds to bust out Manic Monday by the Bangles. After all, any song that uses the words "fun day" deserves some recognition -- maybe because it reminds me of Funions and Funions are scrumptious.

Here's the thing. The song is solid throughout except that one line "I was kissing Valentino by a crystal blue Italian stream." As a straight man, I sincerely have a hard time getting through it without getting all squirmy and feeling icky. I tried changing it to "I was blowing Valentino by a crystal blue Italian stream" but for some reason it made me feel even more homosexually gay.

Can anyone suggest some alternative lyrics?

Genius! Problem solved.

How about "Ain't no other man" by Christine Aguilera? What could I do to make that one sound more manly?

Unfortunately there is no way to make Christina Aguilera songs sound manly in any fashion. The only alternative is to make yourself seem more feminine.

I would suggest this search.

Good luck in your future noraebang endeavors!

Where does "I will survive" rate on the fudge packing meter if sung by a guy? I sang this in thailand probably 10 times with different bar bands and each time was a blast. I like to think i was rocking out the cake http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10C68Gzd5GM version moreso than the gloria gaynor original....well i hope so anyways.

the cake version has cusswords. If you sing them then you aren't gay. If you don't sing them, you must bend over and grab your ankles.

I just walked in to find you here
Without the look upon your face
I should have changed my f-ing lock
I would have made you leave your key
If I'd have known for just one second
You'd be back to bother me

I've never been a retro kinda guy, but what's with 80's tunes sounding so good these days? Last week driving home from work this tune came on the radio. Haven't heard it in YEARS. I damn near ejaculated in my panties.

Seriously though, how can anyone say that that isn't a kick ass tune -- 20 years after it was originally released.

Prince - One of the greatest songwriters of the 1980s wrote the tune so you have just got to sing away in its unreconstructed form.

I sing it when listening to the 7 hour, 1980s show on a friday night on Century here in England and always sing with the 'kissing valentino' lyrics and I'm straight.

'If she knew what she wants' is the better tune also written by the mighty Prince.

I love the Bangles though, and Voice of the Beehive.

I've been bustin out with Guns and Roses when I'm walkin down the sidewalk recently.

"Ohhh, take me down to Paradise City
Where the grass is green and the rice ain't sticky...
Ooohhh please take me hooommme."

Of course time and experience may have me misremembering the words...
