I have a prescription from a Korean MD for a medication that two hospital pharmacies in Busan can't fill. If I have to go to Seoul to get it, what's my best bet? If you could provide phone number with the pharmacy name, I could call and see if they have it.
Thanks in advance, Ray |

partner is a korean pharmacist.
advice is..
visit the pharmacy around/or nearest, the MD,s clinic..
the problem might be the MD is writing a prescription for a SPECIFIC brand ( its how things work here )..and the 2 pharms you went too did not stock it,so couldnt complete the prescription...if that makes sense!
NB: there are too many brands here, for same condition.. because of commercial tie-ups with each md( ie.read, free trips, cash etc)to promote brand.
so,it seems to be a commercial/protectionist branding thing..and the Korean govt regs say..if brand A is on the prescptn, brand B of same drug type cannot be issued..its actually illegal most times( BUT not always... v common drugs its ok to switch, other drugs not ok to switch)...haha its korea!
this could be your problem..hope this helps |

...also just been told....
the internal HOSPITAL pharms generally only process the presciptions for the in-patients being served by the hospital. |
