I'm teaching after-school classes at my public school. Last semester I printed and printed and printed worksheets, flashcards, pictures, posters, etc.
I was wondering if I should bother asking for money for materials. Do any other teachers get funds for their after school classes? |

Worth a shot, but if your program is anything like mine, they'll say no.
One very illustrating example:
There was a two week break between summer and fall semester, so the agency (running the After School Program) gave us two weeks off, unpaid.
During the second week the Korean teachers were told to come in anyway to do level testing for the fall semester. They asked me to come in too, but said they're not going to pay me because I'm not teaching.
I refused, but the Korean teachers went in anyway and worked for free. Sheep. |
