I can't get it to work. It takes me to a Microsoft download page and then nothing happens.
Is this on Youtube by any chance? |

Correction: being white and Canadian. Its such a melting pot that most of population doesn't give a frack about that whole hockey/beer mentality. I went through most of high school wondering what the hell Bob and Doug was and yeah hockey's nice, but jeez look how retarded the NHL/NHLPA is. |

Yeah. People are so quick to shape the culture around such things, like beer, hockey, "Canadiana"... but all of those things are very artifical. When it comes down to it, culturally, Canada has nothing. All of Canada's cultural staples are baseless and alien to someone who grew up on the East Coast or most Canadians for that matter. There is nothing that rallies Canadians together any more--quite the opposite, actually. Look at Quebec.
If you spend some time in a Canadian city you realize that no one embraces any single culture like the Americans do... rather, people just do their own thing and do it politely. I guess thats okay, but some solidarity would be nice. |

I'm curious as to what single culture Americans embrace. As an American myself, it seems diverse. In fact, I was just having a conversation with a Korean friend yesterday about the diversity of American accents and culture. Naturally, he has a hard time hearing the difference between a Boston accent and a southern one. But he easily recongized the differences in lifestyle between say...Texas and New York City. |

Hell, I grew up white in Canada and I could care less about Hockey. Many of my white friends back home feel the same way.

I am proud to be Canadian.
As far as a lack of solidarity goes, I rather like that. I like telling people that Canada has diversity and that people can do their own thing and not be looked at like they're freaks or something. For the most part, at least. |
