I'm having trouble deciding who are the bigger idiots, the OP or the rest of the posters.
OP, you must have typed in the size of the hard drive wrong. 30 gb haven't been oem on laptops for at least four years, I would guess. The Acer page you linked to says it comes with an 80 GB hard drive. If you upgraded the drive, what are the new drive specs, the size, the drive speed, the cache, the brand? That might help. And if you throw in the old hard drive, that might help, too.
The Acer page says this comes with a 2.6 Ghz Celeron D -- nothing wrong with that at all. Celerons are fine for low priced laptops. I think the main difference is they have smaller on board caches.
And Windows XP is a good thing if you don't like Vista. Is it XP Pro or home?
Did you add to the RAM? That's usually a help on laptops.
What is "704M Rom" ? Are we actually talking about RAM?
You say DVD player. Laptops stopped coming with DVD read only five years ago. Does it actually have a DVD RW?
Apparently the other posters assumed, given the 30 GB hard drive, that this laptop was actually built around 2001 or 2002, which is when manufacturers were putting 30 GB drives in laptops. They did not bother to look at the rest of the specs.
HOWEVER, there is one small problem.
The picture of the laptop you posted does not match the picture of the laptop you linked to at Acer. The keyboard is very different, and there are some very different stuff on the area above the keyboard.
Did you read your model number correctly?
Is this actually a 30 GB laptop?
So, as you can see, I still cannot make up my mind. |
