I'm gonna be back in the states for about 5 months before I head to Chile and I need to find some kind of work for 3 of those months. Someone recommended teaching online. Anyways, I was just curious to see if anyone here has any experience teaching online. Thanks in advance!

Brent

What relevance does this have to living in Korea?

Wrong forum, buddy.

yes, but since it's online, he can do it at home, and it's very possible that some vets here would know something. so yes, right forum.

I'm in Korea. I've thought about teaching online while in Korea. I'm interested in hearing from people who have taught online. For instance, where does the E-2 come into play? What kind of students? kids? adults? What programs are needed? With or without webcam? Strictly working with writing skills? Etc. etc.

There. Justified.

And, I really do want to know.

Sad to see that no replies came up- I'm actually looking to teach online while I'm over here... hoping to make some extra cash, but not really wanting to do the whole "leave my apartment to do privates" thing. In theory, the online thing seems like less of a hassle than privates or other shady endeavours.

Has no one over here given the online teaching thing a try?

I think we should give the OP credit for a decent topic. A clear topic is more important than the particular forum.

I've heard of phone teaching. For those in Korea, you could give it a try.

These days there are all these cyber universities popping up but I think they are pretty much in-country full-time gigs.

You could try trolling chat sites and see if you could arrange something privately. But, as bad as some Koreans are about paying, would you really trust someone to pay you if they knew you were back home?

Good luck!
