With all the big news at the "beat goes on" keynote here are my thoughts:
1. The ipod touch is really nice looking, has all the features I would want in a handheld but only 8 and 16 gb's?? Wait till the 6 month mark it will be increased. I hope for this as this is a cool product.
2. The new nano's look funny to me, but are certainly more functional.
3. The ipod classic was my personal favorite product of the show. New Metal casing, 160 gb capacity (slightly thinner than the current 80 gb), cover flow. Good price point for what it is.
4. The iPhone is now only 8gb and is $200 less than it was yeaterday (actually $100 cheaper then the now discontinued 4 gb model). I would be more inclined to buy one now if not for the crappy network coverage in Canada, and the lack of support in Korea. Boy would I be pissed if I bought a 4 gb yesterday for $100 more than the current 8gb.
5. The iPhone ringtone converter is a ripoff, big time.
All in all a big day for apple, I bet the stock will rise significantly by the end of the week, the ipod touch will be a big seller. |

Who fucking cares?
Besides the fact that Apple has its Applefanatics trained like performing seals, should your life and self identity revolve around an MP3 player or computer?
And while, as a music lover, I must say the technology of MP3 type portable players is a truly great blessing for humankind, should you be spending all your unoccupied waking hours with your ears plugged?
I had an MP3 player and got tired of it after about two months.
Podpeople of the world, cast off your earbuds and return to reality! |

I do and I bet a lot of other people do too. So complain go somewhere else
Apple has "trained" its applefanatics? Please explain how? I tend to think that their innovative design, interface and bevy of features for the dollar tend to be why people like apple products. I have owned ipods since the first gen and I think that they have not only been a great product but a truy revolutionary product. When it comes to music players apple changed the game and continues to innovate. They are not perfect, but they do make a good layer with the best interface, great design and solid functionality, so why hate? Return to reality? What the crappy interface un-innovative boring reality? |

the ipod touch is brilliant but i'm really hating the fact that it comes in 16gb max. if it had an 80gb or 100gb HD in there i'd pick one up to replace my 5g. |

i think apple did that for a reason other than technological constraints. If they lower the HD then they are going to be guaranteed to have something for the next generation of ipods to upgrade to. Its a shame really, they could move with the times but greedy business gets in the way. |

No, they did it because it uses flash memory, rather than a hard disk. |

The iPod is an MP3 player. New MP3 players are released all the time. What's so exciting? |
