I know i love S.Korea. However, i am curious to see what it is that most people like about living/working here. Please elaborate if you have free time.
But as a note, let us actually try not posting negative comments for once. This should be focused on the positive. So if you are negative or only going to post something negative, just dont post anything. I think that is a fair request. ^^ |

I like the food. It's cheap and tasty. |

The men.
They're pretty and their skin is soft and they have very little body hair.
Same could be said of the women. But then they have that whine... |

You didn't put "lifestyle." I really like having a low stress job, living relatively cheaply at the beach, living in a very safe place, and the excitement and challenge of living in a foriegn coutnry. |

"It's all about the Sejongs!"
Whoever coined it, it gives me good chuckles. |

I like how I can wear my pink shirt and tie with my silver suit and nobody laughs at me. Well those evil foreigners do!
It's all about my vacation time. |

top 10!!!
1 - Food, I love Sam Bab, Galbi, Sun-dubu, Hwe
2 - Markets, Fish markets are so cool, buy and eat your fish....The old Market in Youndeungpo is really cool (especially the ladies selling Gae Gogi)
3 - Mountain biking and hiking, the mountains may be small, but they sure are fun to ride and charming to hike on.
4 - Korean people, They can be wonderfully friendly and really fun to hang out with.
5 - Traditional Architecture, the traditional homes, temples and palaces of Korea are really fantastic, truly works of art.
6 - Motorcycles, cheap, fun and a blast on the mountain roads
7 - Bhuddism, give me an 'ohhhm'
8 - Night life, out till the break of dawn, Music rooms, sam-gyup-sal, and friendly bar patrons!!!! Koreans are really fun to talk too while both parties are drunk (thier English improves and my Korean suddenly flows)
9 - Accupuncture, where else could I get my aches and pains treated so cheaply? Not to mention the novelty of it.
10 - My girlfriend, while my boss made me despise Korea, she has done everything to make me love it. All the little Korean things she does and the constant mystery tht surrounds her keep me bound. She is adorably Korean, I love this difference and everyday she surprises me with some other cute, interesting, beautiful Korean behaviour. |

Seriously, are you joking??? The dudes here whine just as much, if not more, than the chicks!!! I've heard that the girls whine because some Korean guys think it's cute - "Ooooh Bbbbaaaa... , etc." (go figure... annnoying as hell, if you ask me). But, why do the dudes whine?? When something (anything!) doesn't go their way??? Hmmm....
Anyhow, on topic, I like Korea... most days. I stay here because I wanna be with my girl, and, the good pay and good vacation time from work is great! |

I picked other because I pretty much like everything right now. I just resigned at my school for another year because I was not pleased with the idea of going back to America.
The highlights for me are:
the fabric market (it is the biggest one I have ever seen and it is cheap)
the men
the pay
the work hours
the food
my friends
taekwondo
cheap acupuncture
I am sure there are more things as well. |

My internet connection, working less than 22 hours a week with no report cards/prep/office meetings crap, my neighbourhood, noodles on pizza, and believe it or not, I actually enjoy teaching Koreans (most of the time). |

I voted "moola" but agree completely with the above of "lifestyle"--not too many hours per week, mountains everywhere for hiking and biking, great time off with opportunities to get some extra cash if the vacations are too long, friendly people.
If any of my co-workers have identified my handle, I'll include them, as they're awesome.
Nice to see a positive post--perhaps I'm just with Jordan Baker when she says "Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall." |
