It's both silly and dangerous. A bad mix. A very bad mix. |

Nice idea in theory, but we are not highly evolved enough to deal with it. |

For the color-blind, color is a theory. For the deaf, sound is a theory.
Anyway, let's wait a while. But I am getting really tired... |

You should call a press conference and inform the world public, because this is vital information. They are all living in capitalist countries (except Cuba and NK) or trying desperately to do so. |

the idea of capitalism is that everyone has free access to the market, how does this apply to fucked up countries like china, america etc where poor kids are often written off before they get to 15 years old, and that is where the money is... |

It would appear from your comment that if something isn't black then it is white.
Would you not agree that capitalism works just fine for rich kids, middle class kids and that portion of poor kids who are not written off and end up doing well? |

not really considering what it costs, and the state of most rich kids i meet
if you look at how the world is, the kids who it works out for are less than 10% of any generation, and they aren't generally that happy considering their priveledged status, plus there is the constant threat of nuclear war or the seemingly inevitable threat from global warming/oil shortages/water shortages/financial collapses etc
i wouldn't say capitalism is doing all that great |

Hmmm...life span has doubled, small pox wiped out, people die from the consequences of making bad choices among the surplus of food available rather than starvation...it looks like capitalism is working. |

it works in the top 8 countries, and even there people tend to make bad choices when they are excluded from the elite (funnily enough)

Ditto the above quote.
puerile
One entry found for puerile.
Main Entry: puerile
Pronunciation: 'pyu(-&)r-&l, -"I(-&)l
Function: adjective
Etymology: French or Latin; French puril, from Latin puerilis, from puer boy, child; akin to Sanskrit putra son, child and perhaps to Greek pais boy, child -- more at FEW
1 : JUVENILE
2 : CHILDISH, SILLY
Why the need to attack others of differing opinions? So many needless enemies created. The poster is making a statement of fact: it is not working. Based on what? What he or she expects of an economic system, not, and let me be absolutely clear on this, what *you* want of one.
Anyone who thinks that capitalism in its present form is the best we can do is basically a fatalist who thinks the world is hopeless. The *majority* of the world lives in poverty. Not a minority, a majority. How does that equal capitalism is "working"? |

Big fan. Anarchy argues for devolution of power; localized, small-scale, democratic self-government; libertarian social values; and mutual support. When we deserve it, it's what we'll have.
I'm also a realist, and recognize that there are a large number of forces working against these ideas. The unlikelihood of realizing an anarchist condition doesn't mean that these ideas should not be taken seriously. Even if not fully realized, I think that they contribute positively to the debate on what kind of society we have.
We should also take care not to mix up serious anarchist thought with nihilism, which is puerile. It's easy to do, though, when nihilists so often claim to be anarchists. |
