Yes, someone has finally admitted it: they think, like Bush, that it would "make things easier" as long as he's the one who is the dictator.

Dictator for Life

It's a sick world, my puppies.

The comedy here is that Chavez actually will rule until death and Bush will be gone in about 17 months. Both of these are 100% certain.

Though, I'm sure it will be easy to switch the signs from F*CK BUSH'S FASCIST AMERICA to Obama, Clinton or whoever. People like efl will find a way to keep busy.

It was with relief that I read
Quote:
Contributing Editor Philip Atkinson is the British born founder of

It would seem that he is unduly enamored of the House of Windsor and its antecedents. Otherwise, why would he make a silly statement like this:
Quote:
This rage at President Bush is an inevitable result of the system of government demanded by the people, which is Democracy.
If it were inevitable, then all 42 of Bush's predecessors would have been equally reviled.

But the single scariest thing the writer said was
Quote:
The wisest course would have been for President Bush to use his nuclear weapons to slaughter Iraqis until they complied with his demands, or until they were all dead.

A flaming lunatic.

Tell us all, friend, what it is that causes you to claim moderate status yet attack anyone who stands for freedom and democracy and the Constitution?

This is about as clear an example of something that anyone on either side of virtually any issue you care to name should be united against. The post was about a crazy nut who seeks the end of the world, basically, and the best you can do is use it to attack your imaginary foes?

You carry a pretty hard ax, friend. Keep grinding, though. You make lovin' fun.

I LOVE you, man!

You and sundubu double date much?

kisses

BTW, just why do you think Bush created a continuity of government order that puts him in charge of the entire US, all the way down to Indian tribes, and widened to give himself authority over the other two branches of government?

You think he's intending to let a Dem walk into that? It was an afterthought? A whim? A jaunt through his latest copy of "*beep* the Constitution", just for shits and giggles, friend?

Oh wow. That was really awesome efl. Lets have fun with it.

I don't claim moderate anything.

You like Ron Paul?

In laughter. It is one nutty dude.

Well, kfl, yes.

If Bush refuses to step down when his term is over, I and Gopher (I'm speaking for him, but I'm sure he'll agree) will retire from Dave's after posting a video where we sing EFL WAS RIGHT while wearing hot-pink TuTu's.

If Bush does step down, you will retire from Dave's after posting a video where you sing BJWD WAS RIGHT while wearing same.

Deal?

I've got to look at my Dave's Contract. Where does it say I have to take the penalties for other posters? And where does it say I have to stay here that long whether I like it or not?

Tough place.

Wink

Don't make meaningless, schoolyard bets, friend. Put your money where your mouth is and answer the question(s).

Oh, and my post was funny. Your post stunk up the joint.

Love ya!

What money?

KFL (as in Keane+efl, I think it'll catch on), Bush isn't going to refuse to step down. He just isn't. Maybe Hugo Chavez would, but he is otherwise busy.

Also, camon. You are efltrainer. I know it, you know it. Stop the silly game.

On to your questions:

If he were following this thread, I'm sure he'd have a few laughs.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't after you, eh?

Support that contention.

But you're not paranoid about Chavez. I see.

You sooo cute! Where did you learn your rhetoric?

1) Bush had made no attempt to make it legally possible for him to be president for life.
2) Chavez has.

Paranoia is an unfounded fear that "X" will happen. You have nothing but paranoid fear. Opposite of this, I have:

Hugo Chavez to make himself president for life

The Venezuelan strongman Hugo Chavez has anointed himself president for life by proposing sweeping changes to the country's constitution.

I see two sides, jousting in the wind.........

Can't we both agree, both are idiots. Both are pulling at the wrong strings and strumming a chord of discord, dissention, fear and enemies everyhwere?

This is precisely the point. We don't need this type of politics and I hope you both see this and point towards a better, more accomodating, more gracious and "minded" politic.

Or we are left with the right and what might be wrong. We are left with fear and nail biting and goose steps and pocket lining. We are left with rhetoric and ringing and echoing and the nearer kneeling.......who might be the light and run from the the thought of right?

False. By your reasoning.

BJWD wrote:

False. Fact.

Let me explain. In the first sample above, you ignore that the only thing standing between Bush for another 18 months and Bush for as long as he wishes is a simple declaration of emergency by... Bush. He has put into place everything he needs to rule with an iron fist:

He has the power to declare anyone an enemy.

He has the power to take over every level of government and all three branches.

He has the power to imprison anyone he wishes.

He has the power to unreasonable search and seizure.

And so on. Chavez? He is asking for an extension. If his people wish to give it to him, that is their choice. You will now say it is the same with Bush. It is not. Bush knows he cannot get an extension, so he has set up everything he needs to simply take it. Nobody envisioned him rewriting the continuity of government so as to give him control of all three branches of government and every level of government - even the tribal governments.

This is below you, friend. You are citing an opinion piece as fact of events having already happened. Further, you cite an opinion piece on events unfolding and not yet completed and proclaim that more solid than laws, statutes and orders of the president already in place in the United States of America.

Ever wet your pants in elementary school? What you are experiencing now is probably about like that would be, I'd imagine.

Entropy, my friend. How many centuries has it been since civilization collapsed? Do people truly believe it can never happen again, given that it has always happened in the past? Think carefully. Plan carefully. We may be able to keep things going roughly forward, but we might not. There is a nexus of events and conditions that is truly frightening.

These thrashings about and foul tempers are caused by that sense of impending disaster that they can't quite see nor put a name to. Yet.

Ah, but I'm just a Peak Oil conspiracy nut. (Until you read the most recent post on that thread.)

Think hard, plan well, be vigilant, be ready. And hope to whatever gods there be that you will never need to rely on any of your preparations.
