I just found out last night from a Korean co teacher that 2 women who were picked up in Hongdae were killed for cash. It was planned out by 3 taxi drivers. It seems strange that only Korean people seem to know bout this.
Does anyone know a link to an article in English?

If it's the same story I heard then your facts are wrong. The girls were Korean.

How far is Hongdae from Hwaseong?

Reminded me of this:

A man I teach is a police sergeant in Seoul. The 2 women were saleswomen, and the taxi drivers killed them to get money. According to his very broken English, the taxi drivers were trying to get 30 million won with which to open up a shop somewhere. He warned me that there are quite a few taxi drivers in Seoul who are actually ex-cons, and he besought me (a white female) to never get in a taxi in some areas (Hongdae, Itaewon) alone.

Restauarant, not shop; taxi driver and two friends, not three taxi drivers. Again, see the link in my post above.

Not surprised from the way some of these guys drive and the tricks they pull to cheat you out of money.

I want to make a movie: "Former Lives of Korean Taxi Drivers" In the other thread about this, it was claimed that taxi drivers are former CEO's from pre-IMF days.

I think you are closer to the truth.
