An interesting article. For me, the issue was solved when it was pointed out that thousands of Canadians have been allowed to vote by mail. Obviously they did not have to visually identify themselves did they?
Seems to me that the politicians so dead set against this are merely trying to score some xenophobic bonus points. What is your take on the situation?
I'm quite aware of the arguement that western societies are distrustful of those hiding their faces but it looks like, by the books, the elections officer made the right call.
