Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. I can't log on to the the teacher discussion forums. Not sure why.
Can anyone suggest a large group activity with an enviromental theme at an elementary level for a group of about 60 students. The students live in a remote rural setting and have very limited English ability. The activity will be part of a 2 day camp with Thai students in grades 7-12. I'll have about 10 Thai education majors helping me. They have a lot of experience leading camps.
Our group will present 4 activities over one day. Tentatively I plan to do a version of 'Find someone who....'; create large scale 'idea maps' in small groups; and 'practice and perform a short play'. Each main activity will last about 1 -1.5 hours with songs and very short activities in between.
Any suggestions for another main activity would be very much appreciated. |

Put them in groups and have them write practice and direct their own skits.
If they are low level let them discuss everything in Thai.
Give them one day to write the script and translate it into English.
Then you correct the mistakes.
Give them two to three days to practice skits.
Have a skit performance and rate each skit. |
