I have one student for my first class on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Two or three more roll in later. This class is split up into 2:30 and 6:30 because of scheduling complications with public school. On MWF, I get all the students at 2:30. About 7 or 3 in total.
Anyway, I saw this student (who is usually here first) outside and in or around the classroom. Came time to start and he didn't show up until 2:45.
So now I'm making him sit there until 3:00 with no Englishee from teacher. Make me wait, I make you wait. This isn't fkn McDonalds. If my boss says anything, I'll just tell him what I'm doing.

| I make them stay and clean the classroom or do extra work or write lines or something to make it even more unpleasant. It's not fun to stay after class when you culd be playing, but it's even less pleasant to stay after class and CLEAN up after your friedns that are playing. If you institute a serious policy of 1 minute late to class, stay one minute more, etc, your kids should start showing up on time. |
