| Are you sure the spelling is right? It could be 자기, so the meaning would be 'go over/examine your project and rest'. Just a thought. |

There is no word that say take rest ( break ) before starting it, the break can be during or after finishing the job. There is no mention WHEN you will take a break. |

I realize that, but that is the context that i have used before when i have been presented with this phrase.
While there is no direct mention of the point that the break should exist, i am just substituting the point i would tend to believe it would be. Mostly based on my past experience with this very phrase and an explanation by one of my Korean friends for that past usage. |

i believe it means,
next "jak pum" "kum to" and break(rest)
"jak pum" means piece of work or product, which i believe in this case means a piece of art work
"kum to" would mean examination in dictionary, but i think in this context it looks like the "next piece of work" has not even started.
so basically, the phrase seems like a reason for taking time off to look into or think about the next possible piece of work.
