I taught at a Wonderland in Eun-pyeong gu for nine months. I gave notice and left in April, and my last day was in June. I was so ecstatic to leave, to be done with having nine classes a day and bratty little kids talking about power rangers.
Sooo..... flash forward to now. they are 'trying' to give me back my deposit. But, they cannot deposit it into my account because:
"We tried transfering ur deposit last friday.
and we got a phone call from the bank.
and the banker said they failed to transfer money.
ur bank is not available to get money.
we tried twice.
will u give us a new bank account number (like bank of america (some big banks)?" (all typos are their own)
My question is- they're just fu**********ing with me- right?
I knew I should never trust people that write 'u' and 'ur' in a professional e-mail.
if anyone has any advice on how to get my deposit back- it would be appreciated
Thanks

I just realized that my post was not the clearest.
They need to transfer the money into an American bank, as I am now located in the states. I know that the bank accepts wire transfers. I've transferred money a few times.
I wish I had never worked for such an unorganized and uneducated organization. No wonder Koreans cannot speak English, when corporation with only interest in money decide that they are 'educators'.

Oh. Hmm...Maybe get them to give cash to a friend and have him/her send it over? I've sent tons of cash home. In envelopes.

Always get all your money before you leave...I'd be surprised if you got it now. Wait a couple days and you'll probably see that your emails inquiries go unanswered. Tough luck.

Or a friend in Korea will let you borrow their bank account to receive the transfer?
