I wake up today, go to where I park my scooter, and it's not there. It's about 30 meters from where I park it. The seat is shredded, the compartment broken into, my international license (the only thing I carry inside my scooter storage area) is torn into tiny little bits. The mirrors are broken, tires slashed. The gas cap lock broken, and they urinated into the gas tank and all over my scooter.

I am new to this area, having only worked here for a month, and have never had a run-in with a Korean in the area (or anywhere for that matter).

This is actually the second time my scooter has been f***ed with, the other time last week being less severe, just a broken mirror, spit, and cigs put out on my speedometer.

This is generally the kind of stuff people do back home that have tiny p*nises and are cowards. What kind of man f*cks with another man's transport?

Korea sucks.

It seems that the anti-Korean stuff is reaching a crescendo lately. Have things been getting worse in the past 4 months or so?

Not to be an a-hole, but that post with your avatar kinda got me. ^^

But seriously, my Korean friends have this happen to them too. I dont see how it would be all that entertaining to do, but it obviously must be for some people.

Wasnt there a post some time ago about people trying to steal scooters and certain motorcycles? It may prove useful, or not. ^_~

Don't take it personally.

A lot of Korean guys seem to have some issue with a foreigner driving around on a bike/scooter for some reason. My boyfriend's scooter has had the back lights broken so many times, and we'll come out of a shoping centre or whatever and see a whole bunch of other bikes parked round, and his bike pushed over and scraped up.

Not to mention that I've had two bikes stolen already, and countless friends have had them stolen too.

Console yourself with the fact that you have to be a real moron to want to destroy someones property for no good reason. Often it's just some stupid kids messing around, but by your description of how extensive the damage is, you might want to consider whether you've landed yourself in someone's bad books...

Like I said, I'm new to the area, haven't so much as said "Annyong" to anyone other than the Family Mart clerk yet, other than smiling nods.

To the other poster, ouch, just realized my Onion avatar...is less funny now...

It could be racist or it could just be stupid teenagers doing stupid teenage things. In the country back home, we smash mailboxes. Here, they study til midnight at hogwan and then go smash up a bike.

I'm not saying there aren't racist attacks, but stupid people are everywhere too.

Yeah, sorry about that. x_x It gave me an inappropriate chuckle.

But are you going to have it repaired (any insurance?) or are you just going to let it go?

Get used to it. Here they'll get you one way or another. Get hit by a bus running a red light. Your Fault.
