Has anyone been to Cebu? I saw a decent package around Chusok and might go.

Can anyone give me a quick overview or opinion. I would be there 5 days, 4 night.

Any help appreciated!

Much nicer than Manila. I assume that you will be staying at one of the resorts over on Mactan Island rather than in Cebu city itself.

Rain, sun, rain, beaches and diving.
Cheap department store shopping at SM or Ayala mall.
It is great for a 4 night package. You will at least get a taste of the islands.
It is even better for a 6 month stay.

Take your umbrella ... you may need it at Chusok.

If you want the surf, skip Bali and go to cloud nine on Siargao.

For a newbie and only 96 hours of vacation time, a package to mactan isn't that bad.

What's the package entail? Going solo or with a significant other?

Most resorts are Mactan Island near the airport. Cebu City is alright, but not amazing by any stretch of the imagination. It's much more comfortable than Manila.

Im here right now, this place ROCKS! Anything you want, great beer, chicks, the beach is not great here, but you can go to mactan island and there are some beaches at some nice hotels there, beaches with japanese babes who are lonely because they took vacations with their office workers Wink

the action never NEVER ENDS. Great food, thai, bbq, italian, mexican, anything you want. I will be sad when I got to come back to korea, but my time is limited.

I was there a couple weeks ago. It was decent, but not as nice as Borneo. Driving sucked, as it does most places in SE Asia.

Get the hell out of Cebu City; Magellan's Cross is okay, but not amazing; Tops is really pretty. If you get a chance, head to Kawasan Falls. BEAUTIFUL and remote.

Avoid package deals -- yuck!

That's the REAL reason to go to Cebu.

A tour package, NO.

To party your ass of, YES.

By the way, did you check out SUNFLOWER DISCO? I liked that place.

I also saw "WILD ON E - PHILIPPINES" on youtube, they go clubbing in Cebu, some of them looked like places I'd really like to go.

Badgers is a nice low-key expat hangout with 4 foreigners who own it. Real comfortable place with pool tables, etc.

Wineshop is Spanish-owned and good for Latin music, Meditteranean food, and of course an international wine selection.
