I am doing a search on one way flights to Thailand in 3 months from now and then on to the US in 4 months, but getting crazy expensive quotes.
I am talking $950 to $1950 just for one way to Bangkok from Pusan! This doesn't even include an outbound flight from Bangkok!
Is it simply too early to get a good deal or is it really going to cost that much to get out of here in 3 months? |

They haven't got the discounted tic prices up yet so you are looking at the published full fares.
Call your favorite airline. You can get better pricing. |

When do the discounted ticket prices usually come up? |

If you are NOT travelling on a Korean holiday, usually 60-90 days.
If you call the airline you can get the pricing earlier but the fares shown on the travel websites like expedia and yahoo etc. won't show them yet.
From Korea either use the airline websites directly or use something like http://www.whypaymore.co.kr (Korean only however).
For Thailand departures use the airline websites directly because I don't know any discounters in Thailand.
Cathay pacific has some great fares outside of the XMAS rush period. You can also get decent pricing from Royal Thai, Korean air and Asiana getting to Bangkok. |
