I need to go to immigration to get an extension of my departure date but my passport is sent away at the moment (for a visa)
Is my ARC card enough or do i need my passport too?

You'll need your passport, as they'll give you a big ol' stamp.

I don't know if it's possible to extend an E2. A couple years ago they gave me an extension and told me it was a visa extension, but it turns out it was just a tourist extension: When I left the country for Chuseok and re-entered, they told me my visa was invalid, detained and questioned me, and confiscated my ARC. SO MUCH FUN.

If you stay with the same employer, you can extend your E2 Visa without leaving Korea.

Thanks
Yeah, I meant a few days extension at the end of my contract/before departure date because my visa runs out the day that I finish my contract
Need a few days to get everything sorted

For that you will need to have:
your ARC,
passport,
application form
and departure ticket.

There is NO fee.

Your period of stay will be extended until the date of your ticket.
