I'll wager it's because they didn't take two minutes to study Hangul and have no idea how the word is actually spelled or how to pronounce it.

Too much non-standard Romanization on this site in general. It's confusing.

There are two standards that I know of and then there are non standard and then there are phonetics.

The d in front of the j sounds like a phonetic form of sorts.

-Since transliteration never works 100% is it fair to say anything makes you look like an idiot? After all Tsing Tao doesn't exactly sound like it looks AT ALL buts thats how its spelt.

Exactly, that's how it is spelt. No one is contesting that. It's the absurd spelling of "adjumma" and "adjoshi" that perturbs me; a red-flag of ignorance on behalf of the poster.

And why do I care? I don't particularly. Go on and look like an idiot all you want. I just wanted to point it out in case they wanted to show a little self-improvement. Why do you care if I care or not?

This could go on for a long while...

Sadly, I agree. Drives me nuts when I see terrible romanization of words. But, the worst is when a few people on here spell it azummas. I would be that most of it is due to not knowing actual Korean though.

Using the "d" is much closer to the actual sound. If you haven't noticed, lots of Korean consonants don't quite fit their Roman alphabet equivalent.
