I doubt it.
Seemed like some guy was trying to sell something to my boss today. The guy seemed like an agin salesman with greasy hair. NOt the kind of guy you could trust. He was showing some english instructional dvd to my boss. It didn't seem very good. BUt then I saw about 10 seconds of it.
THe hagwon that i am at isn't doing so well and has a poor reputation. It seems my boss is trying to improve his business by becoming part of a franchise and cashing in on the name of a well known school. (Although i have never heard of it). I"m not even sure if my boss will do this. Its just i would like to know what ever i can about this franchise so there are no evil surprises later.

Sounds iffy. I wonder if its a horrible misspelling of 'better'...

Thats what i thought at first. Originally misspelled better for butter, but by the time they realised they made a mistake it was too later (or to save face not admit that a mistake was made).
the guy (sales man) left an application form for Butter English school. It was in english. I was sneaking a look at (it was on my bosses desk) so i didnt' look at it very thoroughly. I am assuming my boss wants to be a part of this franchise.

'Butter' is what they meant. Thing slide and are easy on butter, thus English is easier on the butter program. It's somewhat common in Korea to call something butter, if its easy.

As for Butter English. It's growing and I've actually heard of it. It's only for kids though, as far as I know. I thought they should have called it Butter's English after that kid on South Park, and taught you how to talk like him.

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of 'buttah-nemseh' -- you know, the old Korean (and Japanese) saw that us dairy-gorging North Americans stink of butter. Kinda unpleasantly close to racism, imho, and not a good sign if someone thought it was a good name for a hakwon based on that train of thought....
