Just arrived in Suwon from New York (only 5 days ago) to teach at Ajou University and need to buy a bunch of stuff for my new place. Does anyone have advice on getting bargains in this area? The job is keeping me so busy that I'd rather be able to shop near here than go into Seoul, if possible.

Junp on the bus and head to Home Plus at Hanil-town or catch a cab to the one by city hall. They are 24 hours, mon-sat and only closed sunday 10pm-mon 8am.

Prices are OK for all the little stuff you need.

OR catch the bus to Namun (south gate of the walled part of the old city.

Everything you need for cheap.

There's also an Emart just across the street and down a few blocks from the Suwon Immigration office.

and right next Ajou is WC stadium. Home the the best team in Asia. There is game this saturday at 5. Check it out!
