I've been looking for a Korean conversation partner for sometime. I'm not intrested in getting a girlfriend, but I'd rather have the company of a female rather than a male. Well, I found a good person who speaks pretty good English and we've been using MSN to chat and help eachother improve our languages. We decided to meet this Saturday, which was fine with me. I'd rather be out of my apartment if I'm going to improve my Korean. But she just told me that her Sister and her brother-in-law are also going to join us.
Now be straight with me guys. Am I completely up the creek without a padle? becuase I got the feeling that I'm heading into boyfriend land. Which oddly enough is the one place I don't wnat to be right now. (I'm only here for a year, I really don't want to start something that I know I can't finish.) Any help guys? Any at all? Please I'm beggin' yeah. Little help?

You're heading into boring-uncomfortable-night-hanging-out-with-three-people-who-can't-speak-English-well-and-just-want-to-say-they-saw-a-live-foreigner land. Usually that's how those things play out.

Well dude, if she doesn't know you I doubt shes just gonna show up and hope you are a good guy. Shes gonna want some people she knows around in case you are a knife wielding pyscho.
Or shes bringing them to help in case the conversation slows down on your date so no one feels awkward!

Really, I don't really mind that. I've never hung out exculsively with Koreans before. I just don't want to be the potential boyfriend. This place is great and but I'd like to do a bit more traveling. |

she is not sure if you are legit or not! most foreigners say language exchange and all they learn is PANTY, BRA, BED, condom?
so she is bringing her sister and husband along for protection from the evil foreigner who only wants to get in her pants! |

I understand bringing a friend. I was actually expecting it, by why in God's name does her Sister's husband have to be there. This is the first time that I'm going to see her. What's next an invite to Chusoek?

| Haha...this guy is clearly up for it even if he's trying to pretend he isn't. Have your fun, but be honest to yourself. You only live once...so be proud of what you do in that one life - that can mean being honourable, as opposed to doing whatever short-term fantasies your mind can think of. |
