I just finished teaching a 5th grade elementary class. My co-teacher and I share the workload, so when she is teaching her part, I circulate around the room, and help the students, answer questions, or discipline when necessary. I often take away notes that are passed around in class, just for fun.

So a couple of 5th grade boys were passing a note, and I walked by and said "thank you, I'll take that. You boys pay attention to your lesson". I took it to the back of the classroom and opened it up. Usually they are passing along codes for video games, soccer stuff etc. I was shocked to find that this time, they were actually passing eachother a link to a website for free sex games. I was slightly disturbed. I showed it to my co-teacher, and she grilled them. They claimed that they just found it in the desk. Riiiight...

I never pictured those boys that way, as 5th graders. Especially since their age here is actually like that of 4th graders at home. I guess that's what having such easy access to the internet with lack of parental supervision does.

Erotic movies is the big topic in class just now.

All the boys are talking about them and some of the girls. It has made asking about their weekend activities rather amusing.

Same thing happened to my friend a couple years ago. A couple girls (12ish) were passing a note. She took the note. They gasped with horror. It was all in Korean which she couldn't read. She figured it was about her "teacher has a big nose". Anyway, after class she gave the note to her Korean coteacher wondering what was written on it and why the horror. The Korean teacher read it, smiled a weird smile, and then went to the class and told the girls that if they passed such notes again she would call their mothers.

The girls were doubly mortified.

Anyway, my friend was now keen to know what the note was about. It ended up being something about one of the boys in the class. The girls were accusing each other of wanting him to whap his rumpus baton on their fun pillows.

Whoa! We never really think our young students have those thoughts. In North America with Britney showing her hoo hoo to anyone with a camera and a flash, you wouldn't be surprised if 12 year olds were trying to emulate. But in Korea, we don't see a lot of overt sexual imagery targeted at youth. They all have their pencil cases covered in pink bunnies.

(Oddly I related this exact story a couple years ago and was roundly condemned as being a pedo. Anyway, OP, brace yourself.)

No, I don't teach at a Christian school lol.
Yes, it was shocking cause those aren't usually the kind of notes I confiscate, as I stated earlier.

I started thinking about that stuff when I was younger as well, but I never passed notes about it in school. I'd be mortified if I was caught. Guess I'm the odd ball out though.
