hey everyone,
I have a few questions about visas, maybe you can help me out. I'm going to Tokyo soon for two days and I was wondering about the process of getting my canceled e-2 visa cleared (proof I left the country on time), returning on a tourist visa, and then finding another employer.
How do I prove to Korea that I left the country, do they stamp it at the airport? Do I have to go anywhere special for this?
Also upon coming back, as a U.S. citizen, do I have to apply for a tourist visa? I think I read somewhere that U.S. citizens automatically get about 30 days and you don't have to actually apply for a visa.
Should I go right to immigration when I get back to Korea or does the airport just stamp it on my passport when I enter?
Another question. Would immigration have a problem with me finding work on a tourist visa and then having my new employers pay for my visa run back to Japan to apply for the e-2? Do they look down in this sort of activity?
And one last question. Would I get problems when I return to Korea for not having some kind of proof if exit, like a plane ticket out of Korea? How can I avoid this? I heard somewhere I might be able to sign a waiver or get a refundable ferry ticket to Japan? I would be returning to Korea from a round trip ticket to Japan and back.
Sorry so many questions. I did some research on these matters but there are holes and I need someone to fill on the gaps. Sorry to hit you all with so many questions. I'm new to this traveling thing. |
