I bought an online ticket to China, not through a local travel agent. In addition, I am nowhere near a Chinese Embassy.

Is it possible to go to ANY travel agent, and bringing my online documents, etc., have a local travel agent process a tourist visa for me?

Did you find it difficult getting a visa? Did you have to submit an itinerary including hotel details?

I haven't tried yet. Since I'm up here in Northern Honshu, I don't have any time to make it to Tokyo on a weekday until mid-July.

So I am HOPING it will be an easy process. I bought the airline ticket and booked a hotel online - it seems BOTH of those are essential for the visa at this time.

I'll be in Tokyo around July 17th...and hoping the process isn't too difficult!

Been to China twice, through here in Korea.

All they needed was the one page application for your details and a half page for the hotel info. Oh, photo too.

As for the travel agents they should be able to do it for you, but you likely will have to pay a fee for the courier/them. The one time here in Korea, cost 20,000 won.
