Hi,

I"m just letting people know about the forthcoming Terry Fox run this weekend.

Also, I've been involved with building a strong running club/community and recently stepped it up a knotch.

Inviting all those interested in running, racing, jogging, training, to join us at Running in Korea http://runkorea.ning.com

Lots there and just started contacting people. But will soon have an English race calendar, training/meeting place info. lots of videos. pics (unlimited). Also start your running/training blog/diary there. You get a nice homepage.

Look forward to meeting all those interested in fitness and running in Korea there.. A great way to build community.

Are foreigners allowed to enter running races in Korea?

As long as you leave your bike at home it's ok.
It also helps if you have only one leg, then the locals won't be so teriffied that a foreigner might win.

Hahahaha....

I've been in a whooping 5 races in Korea with no problems. I know one guy who has won races here with no insane reprisals of "No foreigners!"

Don't know Terry Fox! Well, you should. A REAL hero. Forget so many that are just wannabees.

Of course, even foreigners can run! Races are super cheap, great souvenirs, lots of fun, lots of runners of all levels. Like the running boom back home in the late70s/early 80s.

I'll have a translated race calendar up shortly. for now there is a link to the main Korean race calendar. Also, as of Jan. foreigners will be able to use their ARC/ID online to pay, use credit card online, that should.

Terry Fox is, by any definition, a hero and an inspiration.

The man died less than a month after I was born....

Read the whole bio and I can say I've never heard of him.

He is a hero though...

I'm bumping this. Terry Fox run is tomorrow and get down to Yeoidu on the river at 9:30 and run in his honour. I have a bummed up calf but will hobble my 10k. There is also a 5k run/walk option.

Great man, get out there and just do it!
