Depending on where we end up moving, I might have to move outside of Seoul next year after marriage. This would mean changing jobs.

I'm working at a uni in Seoul now. Do the smaller out-of-Seoul unis look favorably on someone with experience at a uni in Seoul? Even if they only have a BA, such as myself?

I know that our school was having troubles hiring people with MA's, so I'd imagine the smaller unis outside of Seoul must face the same difficulty?

Do you think I'd stand a good chance at one of the uni jobs outside of Seoul? We're looking at the South Kyonngi area, mostly.

I would think you would have no problems. Most people are looking to do the reverse order- get a university job outside Seoul first, get experience, and then try and get a Seoul university job down the road.

The 2 schools' reputation and you leaving with good credentials would be factors to consider, I suppose.

Should be much easier to get another uni job with just a BA outside of Seoul.

IN Seoul, it's much more difficult to do.

Given the fact that you have university experience in Korea, I can't see why it would be problem. Just be persistant and apply to lots of places and I'd bet you will get a job pretty easily.

Congrats on the marriage..are you marrying a Korean?
