Three is pretty crazy. I drank over four once. Other than that, 2 would have been my max especially because I drink other stuff along with it.
The very max when with a friend eating samgyeopsal would be 3 bottles between the both of us. But it usually stops at one or two between us. |

Two bottles and I'm ready for anything. Three bottles (one time only) and I wanted to die just to end the misery. |

When I was a younger man, my friend and I would buy a litre bottle of 40% vodka and drink half each (equivalent to a couple of bottles of soju) BEFORE going out. These days, I'd struggle with that - and I'm not old! |

Rainy night. Sober as a judge. My friend is in Busan and my girlfriend is in 2 hours away in Seoul.
Think I'll go out for a soju and samgyeopsal solo and we'll put your theory to the test. Maybe. 3 is really harsh.
Here I go... |

I had two, on my first night here. I went to bed that Friday night.... and woke up late Sunday morning. After all that sleep, I felt no hangover. Didn't feel hungry either. I can only assume I ate in a state of blackout then crawled back into bed. I honestly thought it was Saturday. Upon getting up to explore my new neighborhood, I was confused as *beep* when an ajumma Evangelical insistently led me to her church for the acid-trippiest easter mass ever. |

Reminds me of SLC Punk when dude is sitting out in the yard on a chair yelling at his mother to get the Beep in side. "Are you Jesus man" |

Ok, - longtime boozer, first time caller-
Does soju have something in it that is unusally hard on the old noggin?
In a lifetime of drinking I have never experienced headaches like the ones I've had over the course of my first few weeks in a bottle of Soju (Korea). Vodka, whiskey etc.....familiar hangover, almost friendly....
Soju.....stranger in a strange town called Slapnoggin & Noise |

Is there still 'diluted' soju available? (The kind that's made from ethanol not grain?) I've only had 'distilled' soju and the guy at my local Korean restaurant told me to NEVER drink 'diluted' soju. Can you even tell? |

I was pushing 50 at that point. If I was a resilient 37 or worse, maybe my reaction would have been less. |

Being a vodka drinker, soju goes in me like water. I've pulled off upwards of 4-5 bottles before, but now I limit myself to 2...3 max.
I'm not trying to get into to peeing contest, though. I'm a big guy with lots of practice and it always amazes me to see tiny Korean or Western women pound some back. Then I know it's true love. |

2 bottles one night. Ever since then, I look at the stuff and have to stifle the urge to puke |
