| Hate to say it but that excuse "that you can't afford it" sounds pretty lame. I'm thinking more in the line that the rig sucks and you want to dump it for another....sorry, just my read. |

Do you have any proof that it's a bad camera? Sounds to me like you are just trying to stir trouble.
Olympus make very good DLSR camera's. Have a good customer following in Korea, the three DLSR fiends at work are very interested in my Olympus.
No idea what the gowing rate for them is now, my 400 series cost about 600 or 700 and it's a year old, but bought in Thailand so probably cheaper.

Actually, what Spliff is saying is half right. I am trying to get another camera, but I'm going to save money by getting a point and shoot.
Anyone who does their research on DSLRs knows that this is a good camera. It's not perfect, but it stacks up nicely against other entry-level DSLRs especially considering this price. The closest model to compare would be the nikon d40. From what I read, it seems that the Nikons take better pictures, especially indoors. But the E-410 is lighter, has an LCD preview mode (the only DSLR that does this), 4 megapixels more resolution, and an automatic dust filter. Also, if you change the deafult noise filter settings on the E-410, the picture quality stacks up with nikons and canons quite well.

spliff is an instant expert on all things electronic.
the truth is that olympus are good cameras. not quite as big a market as nikon and canon, but very good quality gear none the less. a lot of pro photographers use olympus kits and i've never heard a bad word about this brand from a person who uses it.
add to that the fact that a 10 megapixel dslr will cost more than that from either of the two bigger brands. so for what the camera is capable of, compared to the price, it's good value ... at around 600,000 won, a full kit, virtually new, is a very decent deal.
olympus is similar to leica, in that it's a niche market and the people who use that gear love it and would never swap it for anything else. i would consider olympus if i wasn't so heavily invested in nikon. 
but don't question the quality ... especially if, like spliff, you've never fired a dslr in your life. how many dslrs you owned spiff? show us your gallery of quality images. then perhaps i might take you more seriously. leave the criticism to people who actually know and understand the gear.
"the rig sucks" is a rather ignorant thing to say ...
to the original poster, good luck selling your gear. it seems like a fair deal for someone looking to get into dslrs and would like to consider olympus. |

Biggest downside to Olympus is the cost of the lenses, a nice 80-200 or 300 can't remember was 10,000B that so about 300,000W or so.
Has upgradeable firmware built in the lense though. |

my comparison between leica and olympus had nothing to do with the cost of the gear spliff. my point was the intended audience ... not as mainstream as the big two, but a massive hardcore following. and that's who olympus cater to.
... anyway, my original point still stands ... people making comments about equipment and a subject they know virtually nothing about. it's not productive or helpful to the original poster, who is trying to sell his gear ... for reasons of his own.
he doesn't exactly need you coming in here and criticising him ... especially since you have no intention of buying his camera. |

I could when if I had bought a Nikon D50 like I had intended I could have had a set of lenses at a cheaper price. Didn't need the best just a selection.
I haven't looked at the price of the lenses here in Korea for my E400 might do this weekend if I get a chance.
I have read that there are non-olympus ones available for the 2/3s or 3/4s system or whatever it is called but I have never seen one in the shops.
I love my olympus but as I said for an amatuer like myself the lenses were expensive. |

Umm...I think you mean $629?
Not to get defensive, but with another $15 for a 2GB CF card, that makes it $644, and adding the price of the extra battery, camera bag, LCD cover and card reader, it's at least $675, and this is if you can somehow get free international shipping to Korea. |
