Sky life is a satellite provider...
Star sports...depending on your cable provider may be provided under basic cable... |

The only problem is that the match commentary will probably be in Mandarin. It was for the last rugby WC on Star in Korea. The pregame was in English if that's any consolation. |

Hey there..Exciting times ahead!!!
I have a little problem with my Star Sports.. There is sound on my Star Sports but there is no commentary. I can hear the crowd cheering and the referee speaking and blowing his whistle, etc..but there is no commentary..
Now my friend has Star Sports too and he has perfect commentary. He is using a different company..His company is Gangnam Cable while mine is C and M company. Anybody know why I cant get the commentary while he can. I bought the most expensive package this C and M company provided..
It will make a bit of a difference if I could get the commentary... Have had this problem for a long time now and well I thought it was par for the course in Korea, but obviously not!!!
Any remedies?? even live radio streaming or something like that...to get the commentary.
Why the hell do two companies have such different service with Star Sports?? |

The problem may be ( and I stress may be) is tha the commentary is on a different audio channel. Try changing your audio options on your tv, dvd player ( may have choices such as L, R, Stereo, Dolby 5.1, etc)
I had this problem early on, especially with sport commentaries, (could hear the crowd but not the commentary) so played with the settings and eventually found the right combination and voila, perfect sound.
hope it works for you.
Counting down to kick-off Sat morning

That's a problem?!?! Man, I'd willingly pay extra if my cable had that as a regular service. |

The idea about the audio options sounds good. I will check that out later..when I get home. Thanks a lot. Hope that works!!
Getting a friend to call the cable company too..
Oh yes it is a problem. I cant hear any of the studio analysis...build up, after match reaction etc. either. Watching a game without commentary ( i've heard some channels or programs give that option) does take away from the game at least for me..
Im considering switching cable companies so I can get the commentary and proper sound..Star Sports without sound is strange!! |

Im looking forward to the Rugby World Cup but the number of meaningless matches at this tournament is going to be huge. |

Well no answer yet.. Technician is coming tomm morning but not sure what he can do..
Anyway..so who is going to win the World Cup..??
Hard to look beyond New Zealand in my view but they have underachieved before in World Cups despite been favorites..
Ireland have a chance if they can top their group ahead of France, otherwise no hope of winning it really..
France could be a surprise and you never know, England could be the dark horses..with the northern and southern hemispheres sides on seperate sides at the knockout stages!!
1. New Zealand
2. Australia
3. France/Ireland
5. England
What do others think?? |

So I've just been checking the TV times on the espnstar.com website, and get this ... the Skylife StarSports is showing exactly 2 live matches in the span of a week, whilst the regular cable StarSports is showing heaps and heaps of live games. 3 on Sunday, from 8pm til late. What do the Skylife viewers get? The Italian Grand Prix.
Absolute bollox. Skylife is getting the boot next month I reckon. |

No offense but Ireland wont win it...there is no way
This may be the best Irish team ever but that wont be enough
Will be NZ, France, SA or AUS again
England wont get far |

You're right indytrucks, but the problem with cable is that StarSports isn't on in all areas. I had it a while ago and couldn't get Star, but other people could. That's the only reason I switched to Skylife.
As mytime said, Ireland have no chance. I really hope that they don't even make it out of their group.
It'll be one of NZ, Aussie, S.A. or France. |

France to win
NZ or South Arfica runners up (SA in my opinion)
Aus, Ireland Semis
England quarter finalists
