Looks like it's, "Find Your Cojones Day." A march in Washington complete with civil disobedience, Greenspan telling it like it is re: Iraq and Bush's economic policies, and now the Iraqis have stopped kissing the Bush faction's butt.

Nice-uh!!!

Iraqis say U.S. should stop passing blame

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iraqi lawmakers said on Saturday that Washington should take responsibility for the turmoil in Iraq and stop blaming Baghdad, Iran and Syria.

Frustrated by criticism from the United States over their slow progress towards political goals meant to foster national reconciliation, Iraqi leaders said Washington would be better served by examining its own progress in the unpopular war.

"The Americans always try to pretend the responsibility for cleaning up this mess isn't theirs and tend to shift blame onto Iraq, Iran and Syria for everything that goes wrong," said veteran Kurdish lawmaker Mahmoud Othman.

"But they should stop this nonsense and admit that most of the accountability rests on their shoulders,
" he told Reuters.

...Bush criticized Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's government, saying it had made limited political progress despite the breathing space offered by this year's "surge" of U.S. troops and the improved security.

...Iraqi lawmakers were not impressed.

"Before they ask the government to treat the problems in Iraq they should correct the mistakes they committed, like the disbanding of the Iraqi army," Sunni Arab lawmaker Izzedine al-Dawla said.

The benchmarks, which include a crucial revenue-sharing oil law, are designed to promote reconciliation between Iraq's warring majority Shi'ite and minority Sunni Arabs.

Bull. The critical oil law? THERE'S your reason for benchmarks.

Maliki's shaky unity government has been all but paralyzed by infighting...

And about what? Not least, the freaking oil law. 70% of Iraqis oppose it.

I despise Bush, but the fact that the Iraqi gov't pushed to take extremely long holidays during the turmoil wasn't helpful. I guess Bush did the same thing, though, so who can blame them for following the example?
