I'm a Canadian citizen moving back to Canada. I have heard from other sources that we may be able to get a refund of the VAT (value added tax) we paid while in Korea.

Can anyone shed any light on this.

Thanks

I was in Lotte and asked about that. I was told that you have to go to the Tax Refund office of a store and show them the items with reciept.
They will fill out the appropriate forms and give them to you. Once you arrive at the airport you show them the forms and the items; clothing can be worn at the time. Since you have to show the products, anything like liquor should not be done if it is going to be consumed here.
Hope this helps.
