My handler often gives me paperwork that I have no idea how to fill out.
Today I was given a "Report of Self-Study".

I get Thursday off from my public school - but I have to make up a lie/excuse about the "self-study" I will be engaging in to excuse my absesnce. I'm guessing it has something to do with audits?

I've been told that "all the teachers have to do that." Razz

I had to write 10-12 sentences outlining what I hope to accomplish.
I'm feeling snarky - and this is what I'm considering submitting.

Quote:

Title: Study of Classroom Managment
연수내용

1) Research culture differences between the Korean and American education systems for teacher training class as per request. Find new ways to convince educators to attend teacher training.

2) Develop a plan that decreases friction with administration and co-teachers, and provides measures that assure continued sanity while attempting professional instruction. Attempt to outline a method that will enable procurement of noticeable progress in the English conversation level of the scholars under my tutelage. Evaluate the probability of reaching afore-mentioned mile-stone. Revise plan accordingly. Analyze previous classroom experiences. Ruminate upon antecedent pedagogical encounters with pupils. Develop more efficient methods of maintaining internal tranquility during periods of classroom turmoil. Final reflection on changes in personal teaching style and redefininition of the educational goals for the present term.

I don't have to submit this until Friday. =D
Should I just submit it like this? Razz I really really want to!

Probably worth a laugh but something like this will just wind up embarrassing whoever has to read it and possibly result in making things awkward or you having to redo it. (I'm assuming a K-teacher will be reading it).

PS, With these kinds of snarky posts its always wise not to make mistakes yourself. I wouldn't submit it as it is, I'd atleast fix the mistakes. There is no hyphen in 'milestone', nor in 'afore-mentioned', and you made a typo with redefininition.

This proofreading was a free sample.

Enjoy your day off Smile

Hah. Thanks. I will proofread it. It's not due until Friday.
Actually I don't mind redoing it.

I really just want to make a point. Whenever they hand me this sort of thing they're basically telling me to come up with a plausible lie that allows everyone to be happy. Then when I express confusion about what exactly I'm supposed to say - they say something like "Don't you know?" or "It's so easy." and I'm treated with frustration or as though I'm a child.

It's awkward and uncomfortable for me.

I've tried explaining before that I've never had a job that requiring this kind of "creativity". I've never had to make up lies to explain why I'm not working when it's understood that no one will be working. It's a completely foreign concept to me. Endorsed BS. I feel like I'm not culturally equipped to BS the correct Korean way. Maybe my attempt at BS-ing my way will communicate that.

Or it might be a fruitless endeavor. It was fun to write at any rate. =D
