I know its been flogged to death, but still did a search and not enough info come up so I thought I would bring it back from the dead,

now A friend of mine did a runner at this school a month or two ago like 4 months into her contract.. she went to labour board and immigration and they delt with it alittle, there were 5 teachers that ran... labour board tried to get release letters and immigration said they wanted release letters.
but this Director being your classic dictator MORON A~HOLE. who never paid them and blar blar.. there were validated reasons for running TRUST ME .. all the teachers WALKED OUT!
so she wont give the release letter. my friend returned to USA and now she wants to come back..
how can I get her to work at my school????

please I really need some help on this..
there has to be a way! right?
it hasnt been one year since she started the contract at the other school.

Efl-law are really helpful. I'm going through a similar process now, didn't run though. Even if your friend has a release letter, the old boss is supposed to go to immigration and clear them. Also, when your friend applies for a new job, the new place will ask immigration what their status is. If they find out they left early, apparently, the new place will call the old place and ask what the story is. Often the offer from the new place is withdrawn. This is what I've seen at efl-law, and teachkoreanz. Basically, if the old boss is a childish, vindictive pleb, it can be very hard to get a new job until the old E2 expires.

I have a new job. My old boss has suplied a release letter and is willing to go to immigration, with new boss, to clear me.
Will things be Ok? its just that I've heard on this chatboard that immigration enforce a period to elapse before issuing a new E2, no matter how genuine the circumstances. Is this true???

Hey, Rapier, re; 'letter of release'. The BEST place to ask these questions is on pusanweb and the EFL law board (on the board list page of the discussion board, near the bottom). A guy named 'EFL law guy' with hordes of experience clarifies everything.
I'm with a letter of release and now posted there re; letter of release. The boss said there's a month processing/paper shuffling time following last day worked. And EFL law guy said DO NOT let the new school speak to the old school. But, it seems, that happens anyway (new school asks immigration which tells them which school you left early). Apparently, and I can see this happening, bosses stick together (conferring), get a sadistic pleasure out of setting up a rep with the new boss so that you're 'made', and thus easier to 'manage'. I'm trying to get my present boss to swear he'll mind his own business, and let me be on my way (no 'follow up' calls to the new school). Need a 'counterweight' to 'threaten' to swing back at him, implications of 'cards up the sleeve'. Managing 'foreigners' is not easy, given the 'culture gap', so they're tempted to confer, likely in a mocking/derisive fashion I suspect.
