So the creation of beer and civilization happened at the exact same time. There is actually a debate over whether the discovery of how to create beer from wild growing barley was the reason people settled down into an area and started farming, or if people who had already settled down into an area started farming and came across the process to make beer.
The beer back then would have been more like liquid bread�very high calorie-- and would give a person enough calories to work through the day if there was a limited supply of food. |
